Every Monday morning, we'll be bringing you news about the happenings here at Open Door Media Group. "The Monday Morning Message" will have updates about photo shoots, new co-ops, video shoots, and new productions that we are working on.
This week, we have a number of announcements to make. This Friday, we will be beginning a weekly blog series that will spotlight a new underground artist every Friday.
The first band we will be spotlighting is Chicago band Chasing Chimera, a band ODMG filmed at Camp/Out @ Camp/Us: Night 2 back in April. Other artists that will be highlighted in the coming weeks include Chicago band Sad Jokes, Peoria EDM artist PVPABEAR, Aurora hip-hop duo Anumi, DeKalb rock band The Smoking Revolvers, Chicago band The Flips, and new Chicago rapper D-Zoe.
As for ODMG's newest video series that we announced a couple weeks ago, the release of the Whiskey Point Sessions video series will be delayed. Due to unfortunate circumstances, both Chase Aways and North By North have rescheduled their recordings dates.
North By North will now be joining us in studio when they return to Chicago in October, while Chase Aways is still to be determined. Further announcements regarding this video series will be coming in the few days.
ODMG's next event will be this Friday at Camp/Us as the Logan Square storefront hosts the fourth night of Camp/Out. Camp/Out is an event that spotlights music, art, and comedy by featuring three bands, a pair of comedians, and a pop-up art gallery by a local artist.
Guardrail, Rebuild & Rebound, and Torch The Hive will be the performing bands with Mike Stricker and Tim Brennan performing on the comedy end. Ryan Wilmot will be the featured artist for the fourth Camp/Out.
Be sure to subscribe to ODMG's new YouTube channel. We will be releasing new videos soon, including a Mayweather-McGregor hype video set to the tune of Chase Away's "Let 'Em Know." Make sure to also to like our Facebook page and follow our Twitter and Instagram for more news, videos, and photos of Chicago artists.
